Our Services
Kid Friendly & Kid Sensitive Dental Care

Positive dental experiences during childhood can encourage a lifetime of good oral health habits and bright smiles. We understand that many children feel uneasy about dental visits, and that our younger patients have different needs for treatment and communication than our older patients. Each member of our team has a gentle touch, and we talk children through every procedure to help them feel at ease in our care.

Benefits of Preventive Dentistry
To help you achieve and maintain your optimal oral health, we focus on preventive dental care and regular dental checkups. This not only keeps your teeth and gums looking and feeling great, but keeping up with your oral health can also significantly reduce the amount of money you’ll have to spend on dental treatment later in life.

Periodontal Health (Gum Health)

According to MedlinePlus, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health, about 80 percent of U.S. adults currently have some form of gum disease. The prevalence of both gingivitis and more serious periodontal disease increases with age as teeth wear down, gums naturally recede, and medications affect oral changes. If your gums feel tender, appear red or swollen, or bleed easily, you could be at risk for gum disease. Other symptoms include sensitive or loose teeth and persistent bad breath. Left untreated, gum disease can lead to tooth loss and more serious health problems. Call us today so we can help protect your oral and overall health!
Treatment for Gum Disease
Including diagnosis of gum disease, treatment, and appropriate maintenance. Gum disease used to require surgery more often than not. While surgery is still an option and sometimes necessary, many cases can now be treated with less invasive techniques first, such as deep dental cleanings, local antibiotics, and special mouth rinses.
Oral Cancer Screenings
When it comes to oral cancer, early detection is key. Regular oral cancer screenings are an effective way to discover oral cancer at an early, highly curable stage. We use the Identafi® 3000 ultra oral cancer screening device to detect lesions before they produce any pain or symptoms. Digital x-rays also aid in the detection of oral cancer by enabling Dr. Maloley to see possible tumors and other problems associated with the jaw.
Treatment for Halitosis (Bad Breath)
Bad breath (halitosis) is a common dental problem that can be embarrassing and distracting for you and others around you. The usual suspects in a case of bad breath are poor oral hygiene, dry mouth, certain foods, sinusitis, tobacco, and gum disease. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day is the first step toward fresher breath, and brushing after every meal is even better. Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner, and don’t forget to brush your tongue – this will make a big difference in how clean your mouth feels and smells. If you wear dentures, always remove them at night and clean them thoroughly before replacing them the next morning. Toothbrushes should be replaced every couple months. For more tips on home care, visit the Sonicare Oral Care & Your Health page.
Dr. Maloley also provides Oxyfresh® dental hygiene kits that are specially formulated to fight bad breath and protect teeth against decay.
